Programme

Day 1

We will arrive in the late morning at our farmhouse in the Umbria countryside. 
In the afternoon we will visit Lugnano in Teverina, well known for being one of the preattiest village in Italy. We will discover its beauties like the Collegiata, the most ancient Romanesque style Church  in the South of Umbria.

Day 2

We will then explore a traditional oil mill in and in the afternoon we will visit to the Ovo Pinto Museum and the smallest theatre in the world.
Back to the farmhouse and free time.

Day 3

Discover the Marmore Falls, the highest in Europe, and Amelia, developed along the ancient Ameria Way. We will walk along its winding cobbled streets lined with a local guide. Our lunch will be at traditional local grocery store in the center of the village.
In the late afternoon we will be hosted at a winery specialized in the “ciliegiolo” wine, a grape that grows only in the Amerino area. We will enjoy a wine tour and a dinner which courses will be accompanied by 3 kinds of wine.

Day 4

We will visit Orvieto with its amazing Duomo and San Patrizio Well. We will move on to Montefiascone and have a fish-based lunch overlooking Bolsena lake.
In the afternoon we will visit Civita di Bagnoreggio, the “dying town”, explore the wine museum and taste local food.
Back to the farmhouse and dinner.

Day 5

We will have a daytrip tour to Tuscany. We will reach a winery where we will be greeted with a tasting of 3 wines accompanied by a selection of cold cuts and cheese. We will explore its cellars and we will then have a delicious lunch at the panoramic terrace. We will enjoy a typical Tuscan lunch surronded by the hills of the Val di Chiana landscape. We will taste “pici”, typical home made pasta, meat cooked on the grill and “cantucci and vin santo” as a dessert.
Following that, our sommelier-guide will lead us through the alleys of Montepulciano. We will end our day at a Contucci winery, located in the center of the town, tasting 3 wines and admiring its cellars and its Renaissance building.
Back to the farmhouse.

Day 6

We will admire the “Bosco of Bomarzo”, a masterpiece of the XVI century, with its monster sculptures in the woods.
Our lunch will be at a local restaurant and, in the afternoon, we will visit a farm specialized in hazelnut produce, from the fruit to its cream.
Back to the farmhouse and free time.

Day 7

Immersed in the Umbrian countryside we will meet our chef who will teach us how to roll out and cut pasta dough. After preparing the freshly made pasta, we will move on with the second dish and dessert both made with freshly picked ingredients. Our “meal itinerary” will be accompanied by local wine.
Back to the farmhouse and dinner.

Departure.

 

Day 9

Add 3 extra days in Rome and visit its countryside together with an expert. 4-star hotel in double occupancy.
