Castelli Romani: Grape Harvest Holiday

Day 1

You will be welcomed at a B&B in Frascati. You will be delighted by the traditional aperitif with Frascati wine and “ciambelline” and then have a dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2

You will participate to the grape harvest surrounded by vineyards together with Oreste, our wine expert. You will learn how Frascati wine is made, from the grapes to its bottling.
You will have the Contadina Breakfast among the scents of the grape harvest and taste local flavours.
In the afternoon you will enjoy a wine tour at one of the most beautiful local winery where Frascati DOC is made. Here you will taste a selection of cold cuts and cheese accompanied by 3 kinds of wine.

Day 3

You will explore the villages of the Castelli Romani, together with a local guide. You will shop local produce at a grocery and have a lunch at a traditional wine cellar family-run.
You will conclude our day at a winery exploring caves and vineyards.

Day 4

Castel Gandolfo, place of residence for emperors and pontiffs, romantically described by poets and travelers of the Grand Tour. Our tour will begin among flavors of the gardens and the stunning Pope Palace. We will visit the Pope farm and prepare a delicious lunch together with our chef using fresh ingredients. We will admire the lakefrom the most suggestive view point.
In the afternoon we will visit Castel Gandolfo and then back to our accommodation.

Day 5

Depart for Rome, where you’ll meet our expert guide and embark on a journey to discover the hidden gems of the Eternal City. Together, you’ll explore charming, lesser-known neighborhoods, uncovering fascinating historical sites and architectural wonders that showcase Rome’s rich heritage.

Day 6

Embark on an enriching olive grove tour just 40 minutes north of Rome, immersing yourself in the history and cultivation of olive trees in the Sabina region. We will meet a local producer and traverse the picturesque groves on a guided jeep tour, discovering the serene natural beauty surrounding you. We will delve into an educational segment, gaining insights into the olive oil extraction process and the criteria for extra virgin quality. We will learn about sustainable practices supporting family farmers, tailored to the current season, fostering resilience to climate change.

In the afternoon, we will explore the tranquility of Abbey Farfa at our own pace, a majestic site steeped in history. Whether you choose to meditate in the serene gardens or unravel the secrets of the abbey’s architecture, Abbey Farba offers a self-guided journey into the heart of cultural richness.
